COVID-19 survivor gets hitched at Orange Park hospital where he spent nearly two months

ORANGE PARK, Fla. —

The Orange Park Medical Center turned into a wedding chapel on Thursday for a ceremony that almost didn’t happen.

When 63-year-old Henry Bell was admitted for the coronavirus, the date was Sept. 13.

Things weren’t looking good either. He had to immediately be put on a ventilator and spent weeks in the intensive care unit.

His wife, Antionette Bell, never lost hope.

“It was a real struggle, real struggle, he’s been through a lot,” she said.

When Henry Bell started his recovery, he couldn’t walk and had to get a tracheotomy.

After a week of rehab, he didn’t waste another minute to finally marry his bride.

But not before saying “I do” in the presence of the staff who helped him get to the altar.

“Thanking God for what he’s done and how he brought me through,” said Henry Bell.

The couple already have seven children, but the Bells said the doctors and nurses are part of their family now.
