Keystone Heights High School Varsity football team in quarantine

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — All players on the Keystone Heights High School varsity football team have to quarantine due to possible COVID-19, the school district announced on Wednesday.

According to the district, at least one person was exposed to COVID-19.

Games and practices are canceled through Oct. 9.

The Clay County School District wants to remind parents and guardians of the following:

  • The school district partners closely with the Florida Department of Health-Clay County. The school district will be notified by the Department of Health if your child is currently in attendance at school and should still be home on quarantine orders for COVID-19 testing or contact tracing. Please know that if this is the case, your child will be removed from class and will need to be picked up within an hour.
  • If your children are sick, you must keep them at home. Please do not send children to school if they have a fever or if they are exhibiting other signs of COVID-19 such as a cough, a sore throat, diarrhea, headache, or any other cold-like symptoms.
  • If your children have had prolonged exposure to someone known to have COVID-19 or someone in the household is awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, please do not send them to school. Contact the administration at your child’s school first to determine how to proceed.
  • The Florida Department of Health - Clay County will continue to conduct all contact tracing and notify individuals if they need to quarantine.
