Clay man arrested, accused of sneaking into teen’s room at night and raping her

In a Facebook post Wednesday, the Green Cove Springs Police Department (GCSPD) shared chilling details from an arrest earlier this month.

Detectives say their sexual battery investigation began in the summer of 2020 after being notified that a young man was possibly having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

In the public post, detectives say 21-year-old Alexander Santiago was not only having sex with a teenage girl, who he met via social media. Santiago, detectives say, would wait until the late hours of the night, sneak into the girl’s home through her bedroom window, and force her to have sex with him.

The months-long investigation ended on April 8 when Santiago was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery of a Minor and Lewd and Lascivious Battery of a Minor. His bond is set at $125,000.00.
