COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A crash on Interstate 10 near mile marker 304 Monday afternoon left a 13-year-old dead and two other people seriously injured, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP says that a tractor-trailer and a Sedan were both driving westbound on I-10 near mile marker 304 when the tractor-trailer hit the Sedan.
After being hit the Sedan traveled across the median and came to a stop on the grass shoulder.
A 13-year-old girl in the Sedan was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
The report also says a 15-year-old and 36-year-old who were also in the Sedan. They were airlifted to Shand’s in Gainesville with serious injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer had minor injuries, according to the report.
