CORONAVIRUS: UF Health recommends instructors move courses to an electronic delivery mode

Jacksonville, Fla. — UF Health said it’s recommending instructors move their courses from face-to-face delivery to an electronic delivery mode effective immediately, wherever possible, in light of the coronavirus.

As of Wednesday, here is the latest college and university information

The University of North Florida is not moving on-campus, face-to-face classes to online delivery at this time. However UNF faculty are establishing academic continuity plans for courses they teach. These plans include options for alternative means to access course content which provide the maximum amount of flexibility for students to meet learning outcomes and academic rigor. All UNF updates related to the coronavirus can be found here.

Jacksonville University said it has assembled a team of experienced senior leaders and experts who are meeting daily to monitor the coronavirus outbreak and prepare our campus appropriately. While there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on our campus, we continue to prepare for that possibility. In line with many other universities around the country, Jacksonville University is prepared to conduct operations remotely and teach all classes online out of an abundance of caution. As of today, we have not activated those plans, but continue to closely monitor guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, World Health Organization, American College Health Association and our state and local health officials.

Florida State College Jacksonville is currently on spring break this week, so there are no classes currently taking place. The school said, “We have provided guidance to our students, faculty and staff that follow CDC and Dept of Health guidelines pertaining to self-isolation. Faculty will work with any student who is isolated in order to continue their coursework remotely, including online. We are in constant communications with the City of Jacksonville EOC and are monitoring the situation and will make any necessary adjustments to our pandemic plan as it becomes necessary.”
