Dangerous heat, humidity the next several days

Jacksonville, Fl — Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says we’ll be in the mid-90s the rest of this week with ‘feels-like’ temps 100+ each afternoon.

The average high is 90, but this is going to feel even hotter.

“The beaches with an offshore wind for a good part of the day will manage to get to 90 degrees until the sea breeze kicks in just enough to drop that temperature a little bit”, Buresh said.

Expect only a few widely scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Mike says consistent and persistent widespread thunderstorms haven’t yet kicked in.

“And it’s not happening this week, only isolated to widely afternoon storms. You get underneath one of them, it pours”, said Buresh.

Overnight lows will be very warm and muggy throughout the week, too.

Temperatures each afternoon will soar into the mid-90s with feels-like temps 105+.

By the weekend there does appear to be better chances for showers and thunderstorms which will bring some temporary relief from the intensity of the heat.
