Johnson said her daughter Jessica came down from Waycross, Georgia, to pick up her dream dress from David’s Bridal.

“She actually came about two or three weeks ago. Me, the

mother-in-law, all the bridesmaids came and we had a fun girl day and she picked out her dress,” Johnson said.

Johnson and her husband-to-be, Mark Miller are set to get married in October 2019.

According to market research from IBISWORLD, one-in-three brides still get their dress from this chain.

On Monday morning, Johnson came back to pick up a bridesmaid dress.

She was sad to learn about their financial trouble.

“I hate to know that, because like I said we have no complaints,” said Johnson.

David's Bridal said customers will still be able to shop at any of their 300 locations, including the one located at the Regency Park Shopping Center and The Shoppes at Southside.

Dress orders and appointments will not be interrupted.

In a letter sent to Action News Jax by David’s Bridal, the company explains how filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy is a part of their restructuring plan.

It allows them to reduce more than $400 million of the company's debt.

"It doesn’t worry me. They do a very good job!" said Johnson.

The company says this is the best decision to solidify the future of the company.

Johnson says that's good, because her daughter has already started giving glowing reviews to her friends.

"They made her magic moment. All brides like to have that and they made that happen for her,” Johnson told Action News Jax.
