DCPS to discuss $750K deal with city for employee COVID-19 rapid tests

Jacksonville, FL. — On Tuesday night , one of the things on the Duval County School Board agenda is a deal with the City of Jacksonville to spend $750,000 on rapid testing for employees.

Duval County Public Schools and Duval Teachers United first announced their plans to provide health benefits to teachers and employees in August.

One of the major benefits was making sure employees would not be responsible for out-of-pocket costs for medical services related to a COVID-19 diagnosis.

If approved by the Duval County School Board, the DCPS would be able to perform rapid testing for employees through June 30, 2021.

Bernhardt Laboratories, Inc. would process the COVID-19 results.
