The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left a man dead in west Jacksonville.

On Thursday morning, JSO responded to a shooting at the 8500 block of Oglesby Avenue where they found Timothy James Basden, 42, in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses said they saw the shooting suspect flee the scene. The suspect was described as a black man, according to police.

JSO said a black smaller SUV-style was seen leaving the area with possible vehicle damage due to the damage done on the victim's vehicle.
Neighbors told Action News Jax that the shooting may have been drug related.
