Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience arrives in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience will open its doors Friday.

Action News Jax received an inside look at the exhibition located in Downtown Jacksonville.

It’s is produced by Paquin Entertainment Group and features more than 300 of Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic artworks.

Fanny Curtat is the art historian for Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience.

“Even though Van Gogh is famous for the darkness in his life, you don’t see that in his work,” Curtat said. “His work is filled with color. It’s filled with movement.”

You’ll have the opportunity to learn about the stories behind some of Vincent Van Gogh’s most famous works.

“Anyone who has had the incredible privilege of seeing an original Van Gogh knows it already feels like it’s leaping from the wall,” Curtat said. “The colors are so bright and the movement is so present. Here, you are just really walking into it. There’s something so unique about that.”

“It’s wonderful for kids if they just want to run around and follow the breath strokes or twirl around as the petals are flowing around us,” Curtat said. “If you want to sit, that’s great. It’s wonderful to walk around. That’s what it’s made for, but you can go at it the way you want.”

The exhibition will run from Sept. 16, 2022 to Nov. 6, 2022.
