COVID-19 Vaccine: Federal, state leadership prepare to administer 1st dose Pfizer vaccines at Gateway

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Starting Tuesday individuals can get the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at Gateway Vaccination site.

According to Mark Brady, the Spokesperson for the Gateway Vaccination site:

  • Up to 3,000 FIRST doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be available at the Gateway site beginning on Tuesday.
  • The number of doses Gateway will receive each day following will depend on the response from the community.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management says the number of 1st Pfizer vaccine supply at this site may also change as they continue to receive additional guidance regarding the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

All Florida residents ages 16 and older will be eligible to receive a Pfizer vaccine at the federally-supported vaccination sites.

At this time, the Florida Division of Emergency Management says it has not received additional guidance regarding the use of the Johnson and Johnson vaccines.

The sites may switch back to administering the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine, depending on additional guidance.
