JACKSONVILLE. Fla. — Duval County Public Schools have released proposed return-to-school plans. The plans will be voted on by the school board in a special meeting Thursday. Under the proposal, school would start on Aug. 20 and teachers would return for pre-planning on Aug. 12.
The current plan has students scheduled to head back to class on Aug. 10 and teachers would return Aug. 3.
If the plan shown in the document below is approved in Thursday’s meeting, at the start of the school year:
- Elementary students can return for five days of in-person learning
- Middle schoolers would have three to four days on campus
- High school students could be in the classroom two days a week
District leaders said everyone would be transitioned to full-time face-to-face learning by Sept. 17.
