JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An Action News Jax investigation has learned how Duval County Public Schools is spending tens of millions to keep students and teachers as safe as possible in the classroom.
DCPS totaled $35,333,998.97 in C.A.R.E.S. Act expenditures from March 13th through June 30th. This window of spending includes the 2019-2020, and 2020-2021 school years.
$18,033,540.22 has been spent for remote learning, and $1,986,120.47 on personal protective equipment (PPE), like face masks, face shields, and gloves.
A C.A.R.E.S. Act refund to the district would come from Florida’s Department of Education.
