DCPS: No mask requirements at outdoor graduations

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Duval County Public Schools says masks won’t be required at outdoor graduations.

The school district says that both guests and students have the option to wear a mask. The school district did not say if this applies to indoor graduations.

The announcement comes after the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced that fully vaccinated people no longer have to wear masks in outdoor settings.

DCPS says that in addition to guests having the option to wear a mask, no temperature checks will be conducted to enter the ceremony.

The school district however will continue to keep facial coverings a requirement for students during the remainder of the school year.

The St. Johns County School District has lifted its mask mandate for students. No other school district in northeast Florida has lifted its mask mandate.
