Deadly crash on I-295 Saturday, according to FHP

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 54-year-old man is dead after a crash on I-295NB, north of State Road 134 after he lost control and overturned in a ditch Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP says the driver of the Ford pickup truck was driving northbound on I-295 alongside a Toyota Sedan and a Nissan pickup. The driver of the Ford pickup truck changed lanes and collided with the Sedan, where he lost control and then collided with the Nissan pickup truck, the report says.

According to the report, both the Nissan and Ford pickup trucks were overturned in a ditch. The driver of the Ford pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.

The drivers of the Toyota and Nissan had minor injuries.
