In the past week, there have been 11 shootings involving 13 victims. Three have died.
At this time, there have been 118 murders this year in Jacksonville.
Action News Jax had a look at the real-time crime center earlier this year.
Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said the systems inside can alert police to gunshots and even find a suspect’s car.
Residents may have noticed blue and white lights flashing on 103rd Street on Jacksonville’s Westside.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the cameras are part of the real crime center, which includes Shot Spotter.
Shot Spotter has been able to alert police to shootings.
