JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax was outside the Duval County Public Schools building Tuesday morning when a caravan of cars arrived.
Inside the cars were educators who are protesting the district’s fall reopening plans. Police officers began to block off the group from driving in front of the building.
The demonstration was made up of county educators who want to give district leaders a message: distance learning will save lives. The group wants schools closed for the start of the 2020-2021 school year, despite what President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis or Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry have to say.
