FHP: Jacksonville man dead after attempting to walk across Interstate 95

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man died after attempting to cross I-95 from Golfair Blvd early Sunday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The pedestrian, a 59-year-old male, was hit by a car going northbound on I-95 at 3:20 a.m., FHP said.

Authorities said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was a 28-year-old male from Jacksonville. He had no injuries, according to FHP.
