Space manufacturing company to relocate headquarters to Jacksonville, DeSantis announces

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced Friday afternoon that Made In Space will relocate its headquarters to Jacksonville.

This means new jobs for Jacksonville, and technology that’s head into orbit.

Made In Space develops space manufacturing tech allowing satellite construction in space. The company works with NASA. Last November it launched its first space station facility using hardware developed and tested right here in Jacksonville.

“And six months ago NASA awarded them a $73 million contract to develop the Achronaut, the world’s first self-assembling satellite, which will help NASA with long term goals form missions to the moon and mars,” said DeSantis.

Governor DeSantis believe more good news could be on the way.

“And we’re working on some other things. I talked to the president, I mentioned the space command, locating it there,” he said.
