Jacksonville church hosting drive-thru food distribution

A Jacksonville church is providing food assistance for those in need amid the pandemic.

Deermeadows Baptist Church told Action News Jax it will be giving away free food on Thursday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The food distribution will consist of meat, dry and canned foods and other food items.

To maintain social distance, the church is asking community members to drive-up to the church and open their trunks so items can be placed in cars.

The church said it was able to supply nearly 700 people with food last month.
