Jacksonville pastor offers $25 gift card for adults age 25 and under to get COVID-19 vaccine

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — A Jacksonville pastor is providing a monetary incentive for young people to get the COVID-19 vaccine. It comes as the Delta variant causes a surge in new COVID-19 cases spiking amongst unvaccinated people nationwide as well as in Duval County.

Pastor Mark Griffin of Wayman Temple AME Church, and the CEO of Wayman Ministries, is offering $25 gift cards to anyone age 25 and younger who get vaccinated at the ministry’s $25 for 25 event.

The event will be the third time the church has teamed up with Agape Family Health, a local clinic, to provide vaccinations for the community.

The $25 for 25 will take place Saturday, Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church’s west campus (1176 Labelle Street in Jacksonville.)

Though the vaccination event is targeting younger people, the church will be offering the vaccine to anyone eligible to receive it.

If you plan to attend the free event, you do not need an appointment.
