Man found dead inside car on Jacksonville’s Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Homicide detectives are working to learn what led to a shooting that left a man dead early Monday on Jacksonville’s Westside.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said its officers were called out to Devoe Street, near the railroad tracks, just after midnight in reference to a shooting, and found the man dead inside of a car.

Action News Jax spotted what appeared to be bullet holes in the windows of the car and at least two dozen evidence markers at the scene. Officers were seen picking up cash from around the man’s car.

JSO said the man appears to be in his 20s or 30s.
