New Jacksonville mental health clinic offers telehealth to veterans and their families

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The coronavirus pandemic forced clinicians out of their new mental health clinic in Jacksonville. But they are continuing to reach the community through telehealth services.

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Centerstone went virtual in March. Clinicians with military backgrounds offer therapy and mental health services to local veterans and their families.

“Now more than ever people need it,” Clinic Director Elizabeth Sherr said. “A lot of times veterans isolate, and we’re seeing an increase in isolation, depression. So this the time we really needed to be in the community.”
