Northside Coalition of Jacksonville demands name changes for 6 Duval County schools

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville activist Ben Frazier of the Northside Coalition writes a letter demanding the school board to use its authority to remove the names of Confederate Generals from all public schools in Duval County, according to a press release.

“Northside Coalition requests for name changes are being made in conjunction with established Duval County School board policy,” Frazier said. "That policy clearly states that ‘a request to change a school’s name can come from students, parents, alumni, or the community serving that school’.”
