JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — To date, two Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office police body camera videos have been released to the public.
Their release followed weeks of protests nationwide citing police brutality and in Jacksonville, a call for more transparency.
In July, The State Attorney’s Office said a police body camera policy would be released soon, but they did not have a set date.
More than one month later, no policy has been made available to the public.
The SAO said, “We are planning to announce a finalized policy in the near future.”
The State Attorney’s Office has not given any details into what the policy will look like.
