JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said one man is dead after a crash that narrowly missed an apartment complex Thursday night.
Around 10 p.m., police said a man was driving a white Chevy Tahoe northbound on Hodges Boulevard when he went off the road and into a tree.

The SUV came very close, about 10 to 15 feet from hitting an apartment building at the Crescent Ridge Apartments, police said.
Several people called 911 about the crash. Police said they are unsure of what caused him to go off the roadway.
His name or an age range has not been released at this time.
Northbound lanes of Hodges were closed as police investigated.
