Residents face financial trouble recovering from COVID-19 and preparing for hurricane season

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The coronavirus pandemic has left some Florida residents with the inability to properly prepare for the 2020 hurricane season.

As Hurricane Isaias moves closer to Florida, the City of Jacksonville is asking residents to prepare for potential impact. This includes an emergency kit.

”Even if we don’t have an impact from this storm, which we’ll know whether or not in the days ahead, this is a good time and a good reminder we are in hurricane season and we should all be prepared,” Mayor Lenny Curry said.
