JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a man was shot near an apartment complex on Jammes Road in the Cedar Hills area Saturday evening.
The call came in from a hospital just after 5 p.m. Police said the man left the area after he was shot and someone took him to a nearby hospital.
His wounds were not life-threatening. Police did not know how many shots were fired and did not say where he was hit.
JSO said the victim is cooperating with investigators, but it was still early in the investigation so they are asking members of the community to come forward with information regarding the shooting.
This is a gated community so we’re far back from police, but I see a crime scene van and 4 JSO patrol cars @ActionNewsJax https://t.co/HdcChuNEZX pic.twitter.com/0jAjKQUgKX
