Storm recovery resources for northeast Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Floridians are no strangers to natural disasters. Over the last two days, Nov. 5-6, residents of northeast Florida were hit with a nor’easter that brought heavy rain, gusty winds, beach erosion and flooding to the area.

Due to the severity of these storms and all future storms, chief financial officer and state fire marshal Jimmy Patronis has prepared a website for all disaster-related questions and resources to help Floridians recover.

Floridians can visit PrepareFl.com and receive help with disaster-related issues such as navigating the flood insurance claims process, information on the Assignment of Benefits process, and tips on filing homeowner’s insurance claims after a storm.

There is also a toll-free hotline at 1-877-693-5236. Floridians can call to speak with an insurance specialist Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
