Texas truck driver loses beloved pet during stop in Jacksonville, offers reward money

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Have you seen Slikk? The 5-year-old dog is a beloved pet to out-of-state truck driver Asia Scroggins.

The Dallas, Texas, truck driver said she makes deliveries often to Jacksonville. In 2019 she — alongside her twin sister — shared their cross-country haul journey with CNN.

During one of her recent trips to Jacksonville, Scroggins said her dog jumped out of her big rig. It happened on Interstate 295 South at the Commonwealth exit Wednesday around 4:30 a.m.

She believes her dog may have run into the wooded area.

Scroggins said Slikk was just six weeks old when he was given to her by her girlfriend. Scroggins said her girlfriend died six months later, so the dog is important to Scroggins and her family.

She’s offering a $2,000 reward for anyone that finds him.

Slikk is black and brown with white chest hair and white paws. He weighs 20 pounds and is microchipped with Scroggins’ information.
