JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars first-ever draft pick will find out in less than 24 hours if he’s made it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
This is the fourth time Tony Boselli has been nominated. Aside from football, he’s also made a big impact on the lives of local children through The Boselli Foundation, which provides comprehensive after-school programming for at-risk youth.
Action News Jax has the only local crew in Miami ahead of Super Bowl 54, where Boselli is expected to learn his fate on Saturday.
We caught up with Peter King of Sports Illustrated about Boselli’s possible election.
“If you are the best or maybe one of the two best at what you do over 7 or 8 years in the NFL, you should be in the Hall of Fame. I want to see Tony Boselli recognized for his years of greatness,” King said.
Here’s how it works: 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, Boselli and the other finalists will be at a hotel on South Beach. By 3 p.m., they’ll either get a knock on the door or a phone call.
The phone call means you did not make it to Canton. The knock on the door means you are now a Pro Football Hall of Famer.
