Troopers: Pickup truck and motorcycle collide, killing 2 people on Blanding Blvd.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two people are dead following a crash Tuesday night on Blanding Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Just after 9 p.m., troopers said a pickup truck being driven south on Blanding Boulevard tried to make a left turn onto Townsend Boulevard, when it was struck by a motorcycle headed north on Blanding Boulevard.

Following that collision, FHP said the truck also hit a car that was stopped at a traffic light. The car’s driver was not hurt, but troopers said one of the truck’s passengers, a 51-year-old Jacksonville man, and the motorcyclist, a 31-year-old Jacksonville man, were killed.

The driver of the truck, a 71-year-old Jacksonville man, has critical injuries.

Everyone inside the truck was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and the motorcyclist had on a helmet, FHP stated.

Their identities have not been released.
