Elderly Jacksonville couple had no idea their yard was used for possible meth lab

STORY: 'Asian Town' complex coming to Regency Mall

A elderly Jacksonville couple had no idea a shed on their property might been used for a meth lab, authorities said.

A neighbor was the one who found the items that resemble the meth lab in the home on Longchamp Drive. No arrests have been made, but the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is questioning someone who may be connected.

Home around the area were briefly evacuated for safety concerns. A bomb squad had to be deployed to clear the area.

“We have some possible people of interest, at this point but not releasing [names],” said Paul Bouda of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. “Anytime you’re talking about the manufacturing of meth, you’re talking about a lot of chemicals and flammables.

"We try to take every precaution we can when we are dealing with these substances.”

UPDATE: Officers said someone was possibly making meth in a shed located less than a mile from Blanding Boulevard and a nearby church:
