The “End the Stigma” toy drive is happening Saturday at “Golden Isles Olive Oil”

Saint Simons, GA. — For the fourth year in a row, a local AIDS activist and author is working to bring Christmas cheer to local hospitalized children.

The #EndtheStigma Toy Drive” will be held Saturday, December 5 at Golden Isles Olive Oil in Saint Simons, Georgia.

You can drop off new, unwrapped toys from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and get a chance to meet Santa and the Grinch.

Kids who donate a new, unwrapped toy will get to eat a free breakfast of green eggs and ham.

Organizer Derek “D-Rek” Canas contracted HIV from a blood transfusion he got as a baby, so he also uses the event to raise awareness about the disease.

The toys collected this year will go to kids being treated at the Southeast Georgia Health Systems, including Wolfson Children’s in Brunswick.

This year’s #EndtheStigma Toy Drive will be held outside.

Organizers say masks and social distancing will be encouraged.
