Extended dry spell about to end with local Nor'easter

Jacksonville, FL  -  Enjoy one more dry, sunny and mild day because changes are coming for the middle of the week.

Action News Jax Meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh says a local Nor’easter arrives late Tuesday and continues through Wednesday, which will mean our first significant rainfall in several days.  Since March 1st, only 1.55’’ of rain has been recorded at the Jacksonville International Airport.

The Florida Forest Service reports Jacksonville District Forest Rangers contained three wildfires over the weekend, including a 15-acre fire off Cedar Point Road.

Firefighters believe it was caused by a recreational vehicle on dry grass.  NE Florida will soon enter the peak of wildfire season as we see temperatures warm up and we see more sunshine and few showers.
