Family: Glynn County teen killed in suspected DUI crash was 'the most polite, loving'

Family says the 15-year-old killed in a hit-and-run crash in Glynn County was loving and kind.

Jacob Butts was a Junior ROTC student at Glynn Academy,  and close with his young brother and sister.

Family says he was riding his skateboard home on Sunday night when he was hit by a suspected drunk driver.

"His family is crushed in dealing with such a great loss of the most polite, loving, kind, and giving 15 year old young man," his aunt wrote in a GoFundMe for his funeral costs.

Police found Jacob's body around 6:45 a.m. Monday at Lakes Drive near Baumgardner Road in Brunswick.

Police said 21-year-old Madisyn Culpepper was arrested the night before, after she was involved in a crash at Baumgardner Road and U.S. Highway 82, just half a mile from where Jacob was found.

Investigators said they believe Culpepper hit and killed Jacob before the crash on U.S. Hwy 82.

Culpepper's blood alcohol level was 0.22 at the time of her arrest, according to police.

The Glynn County Police Department said Culpepper is facing charges of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident causing injury or death and failure to maintain lane.
