Fatal crash on San Jose Boulevard

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man hit a tree after he traveled off the roadway as he was turning onto Interstate 295 from San Jose Boulevard late Friday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Philmore Dillon Junior was driving north on San Jose Boulevard and was in the right turn lane.

Officers say while Dillon was transitioning lanes he left the paved road and the left side of the car hit a tree.

Dillon was transported to UF Health, where he was pronounced deceased.

His passenger, Timothy Nou, had minor injuries from the accident.
