PHOTO GALLERY: Box truck, semi crash kills one in Nassau County
A Thursday morning crash involving a box truck and a semi led to backups on I-95 that stretched all the way back to Duval County.
The crash occurred on I-95 north at the State Road 200 exit. As late at 2:30 p.m., traffic could be seen stopped over 10 miles away at the I-95 exit at Pecan Park Road in Jacksonville.
Lanes were back open around 3:20 p.m., and traffic could be seen moving at the Pecan Park Road exit.
Motorists that attempted to use U.S. 17 as an alternate route also themselves sitting in traffic for hours. They also shared traffic maps showing solid red lines for miles around the crash site.
