NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A local father and his son are recovering after they were beaten with baseball bats while fishing. Now, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the three men involved.
Deputies said the father and his 30-year-old son, from Lake City, were attacked on the Nassau Sound Fishing Pier early Sunday morning.

According to the report, as the two were fishing, the men’s children started riding scooters around them.
After the father and his son asked the children to stop, investigators said the men started swearing at their kids.
Deputies said the victims then approached the three men, telling them they didn’t need to talk to their children that way.
The three men then allegedly grabbed baseball bats and started hitting the father and his son. Both were taken to the hospital.

Deputies said the 30-year-old man suffered severe facial damage and fractures.
Deputies said the three men are on the run and they don’t have a good description of them. They’re hoping any witnesses will come forward.
