FHP: Jacksonville man killed in fiery crash on 9B

A Jacksonville man was killed while getting onto I-95 from State Road 9B on Saturday morning, according to troopers.

Darrel Selvy, 52, was driving a Dodge Charger northbound on the SR 9B entrance ramp to northbound I-95 at approximately 2:30 a.m. when he traveled off the roadway for unknown reasons, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Selvy's Charger traveled down a grassy embankment and hit a concrete wall, causing it to burst into flames.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.

The exit ramp was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
