12:30 P.M. UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol has identified the man killed in Monday's morning crash as 34-year-old Cody James Kinney.
Authorities said Kinney was walking southbound on Baxley Road in the northbound lanes when a GMC Envoy traveling northbound collided with him. Kinney was pronounced dead at the scene.
A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at Baxley Road and Country Pines Road near Blanding Boulevard in Clay County.
FHP said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. He is approximately 30 years old, authorities said.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with officials.
FHP asks that you take CR 220 or Henley Road as an alternate route as the area will be closed for about 1.5 hours for investigation.
