First Alert Hurricane Expo Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The COVID-19 pandemic prevented WOKV, Action News Jax and other Cox Media Group radio stations in Jacksonville from hosting our annual First Alert Hurricane Expo in June 2020.

But we recognize that access to information is vital, which is why we brought together a panel of experts from NE Florida communities to explain how you can be better prepared for impacts from a tropical storm or hurricane.

LISTEN: Mike Buresh has 3 Big Things to Know to prepare your family and property.

Leaders from Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns County Emergency Management explained how the COVID-19 response has impacted planning for mandatory evacuations, emergency shelters and personal protective equipment demands. And they explained why knowing where you live and the threats to your property is essential.
