A few showers this afternoon/evening west of Interstate 95 as northeast winds shift the sea breeze well inland. A line of showers & storms will develop along and west of Hwy 301 this evening & tonight, tracking toward I-95 tonight, but weakening. Your morning commute looks dry for Tuesday.
Afternoon storms return Tuesday with hot temperatures back into the low 90s. Rain threat picks up a bit Wed/Thu and tapers down a bit for the weekend.
TROPICS: Invest 98-L is moving away from Florida, but it will keep a northeast wind over the local area through Monday. This disturbance is expected to turn into at least a tropical cyclone within the next day or so. Tropical Storm Dorian strengthens over the Western Atlantic as it approaches the Caribbean. Dorian is expected to become a hurricane in the NE Caribbean Sea this week and then weaken as it moves over the Greater Antilles. Dorian’s interaction with wind shear, dry air, and land will all be crucial to the long range outlook once it moves north out of the Caribbean late in the week.
