First Coast Go Red for Women Luncheon

Action News Jax anchor Letisha Bereola will host the First Coast Go Red for Women Luncheon this Friday.

Jennifer Chapman, chair for this year's Go Red for Women Luncheon, stopped by the Action News Jax studios to talk about the importance of going red.

"Most people think of heart attacks, heart disease and stroke as something that affects predominantly men," said Chapman. "The reality is that it is actually the number one killer of women in the United States."

Women who attend the luncheon will get health screenings and information about the risks of heart disease and stroke. The money raised at the event will help fund awareness and research.

Date: Friday, April 18 Time: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Location: Jacksonville Public Library Downtown -- 303 N. Laura Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202
