Florida to open new sites for effective treatment for COVID-19

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health announced Monday its plans to open additional monoclonal antibody therapy treatment sites throughout the state, opening Jan. 18.

The new locations where patients can receive this lifesaving treatment are as follows:

Broward County

Monoclonal antibodies therapy is a new COVID-19 treatment that helps the immune system recognize and respond effectively to the virus. Previous studies have shown that the drug reduces the risk of hospitalization and death in high-risk COVID-19 patients by up to 70 to 85%.
