Florida sets new record with more than 250 new COVID-19 deaths reported

FLORIDA — Florida health officials reported 9,956 new cases of COVID-19 in the state on Thursday morning.

The state’s total case numbers have now reached 461,379 with 6,586 deaths.

In Northeast Florida, Duval County saw a leap with 418 new cases reported. Officials also reported 13 new COVID-19 hospitalizations in the county.

Of the 253 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide, three were in Duval, two in Nassau and one in St. Johns counties.
