Girl hit by car near Oakleaf High School

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A 14-year-old girl is in the hospital after getting hit by a car in Clay County.

The girl was walking across Oakleaf Plantation Boulevard when a car hit her.  The driver did stop.  The  Clay County Sheriff's Office said it was a slow-speed collision.

The girl was thrown about 20 feet and sustained minor injuries.

She is being treated at UF Health.

The collision did not take place in a school zone, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

As of 9 a.m., the driver has not been cited.
