The Greater Orange Park Dog Club set to host annual all-breed dog shows in SJC

All-Breed Dog Shows on April 8 & 9, 2023.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The Greater Orange Park Dog Club is inviting you to attend their all-breed dog shows on Apr. 8 and Apr. 9, 2023. The event is planned to be held at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds located at 5840 State Rd. 207.

In addition to confirmation classes, those in attendance can watch obedience trials, rally trials and Fast Cat -- or the Coursing Ability Test. It is a timed, 100-yard dash where dogs run one at a time, chasing a lure.

Judging starts at 7 a.m. and continues throughout the day. All-breed judging will be held outdoors in covered rings.

Admission is free for spectators. Parking is $5 per car. Bleachers are limited. People attending are encouraged to bring a chair. No dogs except those entered are allowed on the show grounds.

As explained by The Greater Orange Park Dog Club, “showing dogs is the only organized sport where an amateur with little to no training compete directly with a professional. Dogs are judged against their individual breed standards, which have been established for the AKC-recognized breeds by their parent clubs.”
