JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — 6/14/19, 11:37 A.M. UPDATE: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced via Twitter Friday morning that the man accused of aggravated child abuse is now facing murder charges.
The child died Thursday, according to officials at Wolfson Children's Hospital.

Garyon Gaston, 22 has been charged with the murder of a 10-month-old baby. The suspect was the caretaker. The baby suffered broken bones, bruises, and bleeding indicative of severe abuse.

The mother has created a GoFundMe account for various expenses related to the death of her baby.

The Wolfson Children's Hospital told Action News Jax that a baby on life support died today.
According to a report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Garyon Gaston, 22, was arrested June 8 for suspicion of aggravated child abuse.

The mother said that the baby was in good health when she left him in Gaston's care while she went to work, according to the JSO report.
Gaston told JSO that the last time he saw the baby, it was drinking from a bottle, and when he checked on the other children, he said the baby was spewing milk and he tried to help, according to the report.
According to the JSO report, the injuries to the victim are inconsistent with Gaston's story.

The arrest report says that the child arrived at the hospital with broken bones, bruises and bleeding indicative of severe abuse.
JSO said in the report that no one else came to the home or had access to the baby during the time the child was in Gaston's care.
