JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A local business reached out to Action News Jax to help find whoever stole at least $1,000 worth of tools.

J & R Specialities owner Roger Lynch gave Action News Jax surveillance video of a man who appears to be rummaging through a work truck.

Action News Jax's Ben Becker found out what happened and the one mistake the business owner made that didn't help.

J & R Specialties is a home installation company that's been on Timaquana Road for 16 years.

Lynch said the survellience video is from about a week ago. He said it shows a man going through one of his work trucks. We blurred the person's face because, at this point, law enforcement hasn't said if he's committed a crime. Another angle shows the man riding away on a bike, wearing a backpack

"The guys aren't supposed to leave any tools in the vehicle, but they did. They left Dewalt drills, cordless drills, impact wrenches," Lynch said.

You may be wondering why the door on the track wasn't locked. That's because in the past when thieves tried to get in, they busted out the window.

Lynch said he has an idea who's responsible. The video was posted on social media and Lynch said he was contacted by a person who claimed to know the person in the video. Lynch reported the crime to police and Becker contacted the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office to request its report.

"What's your message to guy who you say ripped you off?" Becker asked

"Don't come back. Not when I'm here," Lynch said.
